The Wild Wood Rollers are Pulaski County’s own roller derby league. We are dedicated to growing our sport and inspiring self-confidence, healthy lifestyles, self-discipline, and sportsmanship. Roller derby is the fastest growing amateur sport in the world, played by thousands of leagues worldwide. Our sport has undergone a drastic change since its televised days of predetermined winners and scripted game play. Today’s roller derby is focused on athletic, real gameplay, governed by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Today’s empowering aspects are a far cry from the risqué adult oriented entertainment of the past.
The members and skaters of the WWR are mothers and wives, professionals and athletes of all sizes, races and skating abilities. Our organization is soon to obtain nonprofit status. When we are not skating we enjoy volunteering in our community and recruiting fans through family friendly public appearances.
